Server down?

Dear Client,



Over the past few months outages in our New York data center have been increasing in frequency. These outages are due to issues at the data center that are beyond our control. Because of these outages and the fact that the data center can not explain to us why this is happening, we have decided to move. We feel that moving from this data center is the only option to continue to give great service to our client base. This move will happen in the coming days. While we do this move we will be upgrading the servers to Dual Quad Cores along with a new control panel.

FAQ



Q. Will I be able to keep my current ip?

A. No. We are moving to a new network. This new network is on a GigE pipe and you should see an improvement in performance.



Q. What type of servers will you be using in the new data center?

A. The new servers will be Dual Quad Cores with 4 gigs Ram.



Q. What control panel will be used in the new location?

A. The new control panel will be ‘TC Admin’ some clients may know this from other GSP’s, there are many features;

· Change your FTP password

· Subusers will have their own FTP password

· Make your own command line

· Check reports of your gameserver



Q. Will the servers be running the same operating system?

A. No. The servers will be running Windows 2003, this is needed for the control panel, and we feel the new hardware along with control panel will not be a issue for Windows based servers.



Q. What about my profiles, configs and add-ons or mods? Will I have to redo everything?

A. In most cases no, as we have been backing up all current client directories. However sometimes data corruption does occur during transfer, and while we are taking steps to keep it to a minimum, it does happen. If you want to make sure you have everything back them up on your system just as a safe measure if your game server has ftp access.

PERFORMANCE IS NOT EQUAL TO PREVIOUS GAMESERVER IP RENTAL PRIOR TO NY NETWORK UPGRADE !

I am greatly disappointed in the change in service I have received with this game server rental. The performance is not equal to the gameserver rental of the previous IP, before the 'big NY network upgrade".
I am experiencing a higher ping, game stuttering (especially when flying) and lack of ability to idle on server due to disconnects. With the last IP, I was able to seed my server for days w/o being disconnected. Now connection is ALWAYS lost during a 7 hour stretch.

These issues has prevented my server from being the success it was in the recent past (server ranking peaked at 160 in August on Gametracker!)

Please, Try another box, another IP, HELL... I AM EVEN WILLING TO TRY ANOTHER CITY, but I can not endure this server performance any longer.

Please make some changes on your end, because I was happier with my service before this "network upgrade and ip change"
