Re: Minimum Specs??
Minimum specifications
2 GHz or better Intel or AMD processor, or equivalent of.
512 MB of memory.
nVidia Geforce FX with 128 MB RAM & Pixel Shader 2.0 or better
ATI Radeon 9500 with 128 MB of RAM & Pixel Shader 2.0 or better
5 GB of Disk space (or more as needed for downloadable add-ons)
Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
DirectX 9.0c
It might just load with these specs, but your viewdistance setting will have to be very low and your framerate will be even lower
Recommended specifications
3 GHz or better Intel or AMD processor, or equivalent of.
1 GB memory
nVidia 6800 or better, with at least 256 MB of onboard RAM.
ATI X800 or better with at least 256 MB of onboard RAM
5 GB of Disk space(or more as needed for downloadable add-ons)
Windows XP.
DirectX 9.0c

This set up will let you run at NEARLY full video options, but will still have some minor framerate hits at times.
My specs are:
AMD Athlon 64X2 @ 3GHz
4G Corsair Ram
NVIDIA BFG7950GTX 512M
western digital 150G 10,000 rpm raptor (x2)
WinXP
I can run at beautiful video settings, with good viewdistance and only occasional fps hits
Re: Minimum Specs??
I used this www.systemrequirementslab.com and my puter passed all the tests for running Armed Assault, now how accurate that site is, I do not know.

Re: Minimum Specs??
I don't know how accurate it is either...but there is a difference between running the game and running it at a satisfactory level.
You CAN fly cross country in a cesna, but flying cross country in a 747 would be more satisfying.
My old 1.8GHz cpu with 1G of ram would RUN the game, but the detail levels and low framerates were so bad it wasn't satisfying.
What are your computer specs? We could give you a better idea of how well you could run ArmA, and I don't expect ArmA2 to be a whole lot different.

You will have to scale down the settings and viewdistance, but you should be ok
Re: Minimum Specs??
I think you can buy the game and run it, but I am guessing you will not be able to display it as I have in my many screenshots. I was able to run the game with a GeForce Asus 5900 128 mb, 768 RdRam on a Dell Dimension 8200 @ 2ghz, but settings scaled down to the lowest levels.
Re: Minimum Specs??
is it worth it? IDK, was OFP worth it? dam straight! ArmA is better in many ways, but not all.
As for your time to play, only you know that.
