NEW CTF STARTING!!!!!!!

Want to gauge interest in joining this league before I sign us up. I think we will need at least 10 people to dedicate to this to make it viable. Let me know

getting enough members to field a good squad...dam near impossible now. In our waning competitive era I could rely on the POR guys that joined USI to help fill the squad. Since they stopped playing, USI has not played in anything remotely competitive with the exception of one or two BF2 scrimmages.

I remember when we had +10 competitive and active members, we would practice by scrimmaging the A team vs the B team, and usually come match time we had to sub members in for the second match to get all to play and some were still left out !

I predict the number of squads signing up for this to be too few.
I know DST have spoke of giving up on ArmA2 already ...they are waiting for OFP2.

well, if there aren't any that want to compete, maybe we should get actively recruiting.......

Guys, it would be really good if you could generate some interest for this league.

There are lots of people coming onto our server who are expressing an interest in playing CTF competitively, but they are are either clanless or dont have another clan members. I'm sure if you put the feelers out you could could team up with others.

Alright so I have had Arma 2 for some time now as most of you have known. I played a couple campaign missions here and there and my original thoughts were, 'This is weird, but I like it. Its close to how OFP was'. I then tried getting on a server to see how it was for online play. Again, initials thoughts were I liked the game and it reminded me of OFP days. The player movement I think is still a little slow, but its nothing you cant get used to.

But as of recently, I have started to play the game more online and its growing on me. It honestly is. Playing with Kona, and Ziggy today on a CTF game, using ventrilo to communicate reminded me of old days so bad. I actually enjoyed it playing the game. Yea, my score was shit but I had fun (I still blame the sun). Just wanted to say that my interest has been sparked a little bit lately, and who knows, maybe Ill play it as serious as I played OFP, and we can join some leagues. I cant really say I want to play in a league right now (this season atleast). I just want to be able to have fun for now with the game, playing with you guys, and getting my groove back (sotosay). Possibly after that I would be interested in competing again like the past. Yea, we might not be able to have all the old players we had before and have such a good team, but all good things do come to and end. Just means, you gotta build from the foundation up and make it that much more better...

And does {USI} have a CTF server?

I'm glad you are enjoying ArmA2. There is a lot of fun to be had for those that seek it.

APL league can be played in now by USI members, but in a merc role. DK have offered us positions on their team as well as TPC (me). For those that wish to play now, there is that opportunity.
I think it is wise, DCC, to choose to become more comfortable with the game before jumping into league play. There will be more competitions as this APL has started to show signs of a great success.

Currently USI does not have a CTF server, but we are not without some limited capability now with my ability to host missions running the Dedi-exe.

ALSO, I have a contact in the BF2 community who has messaged me recently about his intention to have me set up ArmA2 on his personal Dedicated server hardware. He is running the hardware out of his house with a FIOS net connection. I think he has 18 Mb upload last I knew, with dual quads and 8mb of ram. That is more than capable of performing for a match or practice server, and possibly more (+20?) with testing.

The person who is willing to do this is Crackbag, who manages the BF2 Warlord server ' the Crackhouse' . His server is featured on USI web
